VASCO: Riding on a fine hat-trick by Chimaokwu Felix, Musli Power Churchill Brothers beat Sporting Clube de Goa 4-2 in the Pro-League at Tilak stadium, Vasco on Wednesday.

Churchill Bro-thers led 2-0 at the breather with a brace of goals by Chimaokwu Felix, who scored in the 39th and 41st minute.

After change of ends, Felix completed his hat-trick with a solo effort from mid-way in the Sporting half, hoodwinking keeper Felix D’Souza. From the 70th to 84th minute, the ten-man Churchill were kept on their heels as Bibiano Fernandes, Agnelo Colaco, Nathaniel Amos and the substitute Freiman Peixoto of Sporting raided the Churchill half and forced four corner kicks which could not be taken advantage of by the Sporting forwards.

In the 72nd minute, Agnelo Colaco’s shot was cleared in the nick of time by Churchill defender, Dinesh Thounaojam.

In the next minute, substitute, Freiman Peixoto’s corner kick was shot inches over the Churchill goal by Nathaniel Amos of Sporting.

In the 76th minute, Churchill’s Lenny Rodrigues taking advantage of a back pass by Sporting defender shot home to take the score to 4-0.

Sporting’s never-say-die attitude saw Bibiano Fernandes reducing the margin off a spot-kick in the 79th minute.

Goaded by the success, Sporting again went all out in the attack and were successful when Nathaniel Amos made it 2-4 for Sporting after accepting a quick pass from Joseph Pereira.

Referee Sharad Naik gave the marching orders to Warun Deep of Churchill Brothers for a serious obstruction and flashed the yellow card to Chimaokwu also of Churchill for dangerous play. Sporting’s Bibiano Fernandes and Cavin Lobo were flashed caution cards for dangerous play.
